Actors Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo are returning together in a highly anticipated new series by acclaimed writer Noh Hee-kyung.
On January 21, Netflix held its Next on Netflix 2026 Korea showcase at the Conrad Seoul Grand Ballroom in Yeouido, unveiling its upcoming slate of Korean originals across series, films, and variety shows.
Among the standout titles was Slowly, Intensely, categorized under the theme "Discovery of Immersion" and named as one of the platform's most anticipated projects of the year.

The series brings together a powerhouse creative trio. Song Hye-kyo reunites with Noh Hee-kyung for the third time, following Worlds Within and That Winter, the Wind Blows. Direction is led by Lee Yoon-jung, marking her reunion with Gong Yoo 19 years after Coffee Prince. Their collaboration is expected to deliver deep emotional resonance and lasting impact.

Netflix Korea content VP Kang Dong-han commented, "Just hearing the names Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo together is exciting. Their meeting is truly intense."
The cast also includes Kim Seol-hyun, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Ha-nui, further raising expectations. The production is described as a work that explores human desire, emotion, and the density of life.
Set against the backdrop of Korea's entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s, Slowly, Intensely follows individuals who start with nothing but throw themselves fully into the pursuit of success. Song Hye-kyo plays Min-ja, a woman who enters the music industry, while Gong Yoo portrays Dong-gu, her childhood friend, showcasing a notable transformation in his acting.
Slowly, Intensely is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix in the fourth quarter of this year.
