AKMU is embarking on a new journey with the launch of their own agency, Inspiration Spring.
Through the fan platform Weverse, AKMU recently announced that following the end of their exclusive contract with YG Entertainment, their agency has officially changed to Inspiration Spring, effective January 27.
The new agency name originates from exhibition titles presented by Lee Chan-hyuk in 2023 and 2025, inspired by the question, "Where does inspiration come from?" Lee previously unveiled the new logo via Inspiration Spring's official SNS.
YG Entertainment had announced in November last year that its exclusive contract with AKMU would conclude. At the time, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk commented that exploring music activities in a new environment could be a meaningful experience.
In December, Lee Chan-hyuk shared a farewell message on SNS, writing, "Goodbye, YG (2013–2025). Thank you for everything. I'm grateful for all the years of support," alongside a banner reading, "Thank you for the long days and long nights." Lee Su-hyun also expressed her gratitude, saying, "Sincere thanks to all the staff who were with us for 12 years. YG Family was my pride. I was truly happy, and I'll remember it as a home in my heart."
AKMU rose to prominence after winning K-pop Star 2 in 2013. Since then, they have released a string of hit songs including How can I love the heartbreak, you're the one I love, Dinosaur, and Last Goodbye, establishing themselves as one of Korea's most distinctive sibling duos.
