BTS is set to perform Arirang at Gwanghwamun Square.
On January 22, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the first advisory committee meeting for Gwanghwamun Square and granted conditional approval for BTS 2026 Comeback Show, submitted by Big Hit Music.
The approval comes with key conditions. Given the expected large-scale turnout, the event must pass a comprehensive safety management review. Authorities also requested measures to prevent overlap between performer movement and audience dispersal times.
Big Hit Music had previously applied to the city for permission to hold the performance and also submitted requests to the Cultural Heritage Administration regarding the use of surrounding heritage areas, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun, and Sungnyemun.
BTS will release their fifth full-length album Arirang on March 20, marking their first new album in approximately three years and nine months. The group plans to unveil the stage for the first time at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21.
Arirang explores universal emotions such as identity, longing, and deep love. The album features a total of 14 tracks.
