Interest in BTS's upcoming release is already soaring, with preorder numbers crossing the four-million mark.
Album distributor YG PLUS announced on January 22 that BTS's fifth full-length album ARIRANG recorded 4.06 million preorders as of that day.
The milestone was achieved just one week after preorders opened. BigHit Music launched global reservations for ARIRANG on January 16 through domestic and international distributors.
The pace outstrips that of BTS's best-selling studio album to date, MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, which logged 3.42 million preorders over the same period.
The agency noted that with nearly two months remaining until release, attention is focused on what new records ARIRANG may set by the close of the preorder window.
BTS will make a full-group comeback on March 20. It marks their first team album promotion in nearly four years since the anthology album Proof.
Rising anticipation is reflected across key indicators. Following announcements of the album release and world tour, membership sign-ups reportedly tripled.
On Spotify, ARIRANG surpassed 1 million pre-saves by day two and crossed 2 million by day four.
ARIRANG explores universal themes of identity, longing, and deep love, and features a total of 14 tracks.
