i-dle is making a full-group comeback with music that sharpens their identity.
The group will release their new digital single Mono on January 27 at 6 p.m. KST across major music platforms, marking their first complete-group promotion of the year.
Mono carries a message about stepping away from others' gazes and listening to one's true essence. The track is defined by i-dle's signature musical language, prioritizing meaning over embellishment.
Even before release, the song drew strong global attention. The Mono music video teaser climbed to the top ranks of QQ Music's Korean music video chart, China's largest music platform.
Notably, Mono marks i-dle's first collaboration with an external artist since debut. UK-based rapper skaiwater joins the track as a featured artist, adding fresh musical synergy.
"A Song That Focuses on the Core"
Minnie described Mono as a track about stripping away effects to focus on what truly matters, encouraging listeners to pay attention to its addictive melody and meaningful lyrics.
Soyeon emphasized its minimalism, saying the song highlights vocals, styling, and individuality that only i-dle can deliver.
Shuhua added that the song's simplicity allows emotions to come through naturally, even without explanation.
First Full-Group Activities in a While
Following their eighth mini album We are last year, the members shared excitement about returning to full-group promotions in Korea. Miyeon said she hopes 2026 will be filled with great stages and music, while Minnie and Yuqi expressed eagerness to finally share the song and performance with Neverland.
Preparing "Mono"
Miyeon focused on visuals and vocals that stand out within a minimal arrangement.
Minnie recalled repeatedly re-recording parts until the tone felt right, also noting changes in styling and physical preparation.
Soyeon said the group intentionally challenged themselves with a minimalist title track after previously releasing more flamboyant songs.
Yuqi highlighted a new performance style requiring tight coordination with dancers, while Shuhua paid special attention to pronunciation so the English lyrics would resonate clearly.
Working with skaiwater
Soyeon said skaiwater's boundary-free fashion sense and lyrical style aligned naturally with i-dle, expressing hopes that the collaboration would result in compelling music.
Music Video Highlights
The members pointed to teamwork with dancers, international cast chemistry, and a striking black-and-white visual approach as key viewing points. They encouraged fans to watch closely for individual movements, emotions, and large-scale crew performance moments.
Looking Ahead to World Tour
Starting with Seoul shows in February, i-dle will embark on their fourth world tour. Soyeon revealed that all songs have been newly rearranged, promising a completely different nuance from past concerts. Yuqi and Shuhua shared excitement about meeting fans across many regions again with upgraded performances.
A Message to Neverland
The members closed by thanking fans for waiting and supporting them over time, promising growth, new colors, and even more powerful stages as they move forward together.
