DK and Seungkwan Top Spotify Charts With "Blue," Proving the Power of K-Ballads
by. ymchoi

SEVENTEEN's DK and Seungkwan are making waves on global music charts.

The duo reached No.1 on Spotify's Daily Viral Songs chart (January 26) in Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia with Blue, the title track from their first mini album Soya Gok. The chart tracks songs with rapid spikes in streams and shares.

Blue also landed within the Top 10 across multiple regions. It ranked No.3 in Hong Kong and Taiwan, No.6 in Singapore, and No.9 in South Korea—an exceptional feat for a traditional ballad rather than a dance track.

Album performance further underscores the impact. Soya Gok debuted at No.195 on the U.S. Billboard 200 (January 31). In Japan, it placed No.3 on Oricon's Weekly Album Ranking and Weekly Combined Album Ranking (January 26). In China, the album topped QQ Music's Weekly Digital Bestsellers Album chart for the January 9–15 tracking period.

Soya Gok centers on the theme of ordinary love and features six tracks. Blue captures the complex emotions felt when two people fall out of step in love, resonating widely with listeners and reaffirming the enduring appeal of K-ballads.
