Korean American actress Arden Cho added another trophy to her career with Netflix's animated film KPop Demon Hunters.
On January 27 (KST), the North Carolina Film Critics Association announced the winners of its 14th Best Cinema Awards. Arden Cho was honored with Best Vocal Performance in Animation for her work in KPop Demon Hunters.
Cho voiced Rumi, a member of the fictional girl group Huntrix in the film. Critics praised her for delicately conveying the character's emotions and individuality through voice acting alone.
She prevailed over a competitive field that included Mei Hong (KPop Demon Hunters), Yoo Ji-young (KPop Demon Hunters), Jason Bateman (Zootopia 2), and Ke Huy Quan (Zootopia 2).
Accepting the honor, Cho said, "This award isn't an achievement I earned alone. It belongs to the fellow actors and production team who worked alongside me, and to the fans who supported us until the end." She added, "My goal as an actor is to become someone who delivers a lasting resonance through both voice and performance."
KPop Demon Hunters also emerged as a major winner at the ceremony, taking home three awards in total, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Track for the song Golden, cementing its strong critical reception.
