Jang Wonyoung of IVE has addressed claims that she arrived late to a recent event, explaining that the delay was caused by on-site operational issues.
Jang Wonyoung attended a photo event celebrating a fashion brand's 2026 Spring/Summer collection on Jan. 29 at Seongsu Platz 2 in Seoul's Seongdong District. She appeared later than the originally announced time, after a video circulated online capturing a reporter shouting, "Let's be on time, Wonyoung," which quickly fueled controversy.
As criticism grew, the event's agency released a statement apologizing for inconveniencing reporters, citing problems with photo-call operations. The agency stressed that some misinformation regarding the artist's arrival time had spread.
According to the agency, the brand instructed Jang Wonyoung to arrive at 11:30 a.m. She reached the area in front of the venue by 11:25 a.m. and waited. Due to parking restrictions near the site, her team was asked to remain on standby.
The agency explained that Jang Wonyoung waited for approximately 10 minutes for the official call signal. Because the event organizers delayed the call, she ultimately entered at 11:35 a.m., five minutes later than the scheduled time.
The statement concluded with an apology to reporters who waited in the cold and expressed regret that inaccurate information caused unnecessary harm to Jang Wonyoung.
