"Golden," the original soundtrack from the Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters, has won a Grammy Award—making history as the first K-pop track to take home the honor.
The song was selected as the winner in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category at the 68th Grammy Awards pre-ceremony held in Los Angeles. The award is presented to the songwriters, with EJAE, TEDDY, 24, and IDO recognized for their work on "Golden."
This marks the first-ever Grammy win for K-pop. Performed by the film's fictional girl group HUNTR/X, "Golden" became a global hit, charting for eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Golden" also earned nominations in major categories including Song of the Year, Best Remixed Recording, and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. In the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, the award went to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for "Defying Gravity" from the film Wicked.
The main ceremony of the 68th Grammy Awards takes place at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena, where top honors including Song of the Year are announced.
