IU has unveiled a striking new transformation as the lead of MBC's upcoming Friday–Saturday drama The 21st Century Grand Princess.

On February 2, the production revealed stills of IU portraying Seong Hee-joo, the CEO of Castle Beauty and the illegitimate daughter of the powerful Castle Group. Though born into wealth and privilege, her status as a commoner remains a critical weakness—one she intends to overcome by entering both the business elite and the royal family.

Seong Hee-joo is depicted as a near-perfect figure, combining striking visuals, sharp intellect, fierce ambition, and exceptional management skills. Determined to break past the limitations of her birth, she plans a contract marriage with Prince Ian, played by Byeon Woo-seok.
