Singer Gu Jun-yeop paid tribute to his late wife Seo Hee-won on the first anniversary of her passing, sharing a heartfelt handwritten letter.

On February 2, Gu posted the letter on social media. Marking one year since Seo's death, he expressed enduring love and deep grief. "Hee-won, how are you there? Is it cold, or hot?" he wrote, adding that he still wishes everything were a dream and feels an aching heaviness in his chest.

Gu has remained inactive since Seo's passing. He is known to visit Jinbaoshan Memorial Park in Taiwan, where she is laid to rest, almost every day. "When I drive there thinking about what I should make for you, tears fall from missing you," he confessed.

He continued, apologizing for showing weakness and leaving a promise. "When we meet again, let's stay together forever. I miss you. I miss you so much it hurts."

On the same day, Gu attended a memorial unveiling ceremony with Seo's family. According to Hong Kong media outlet Dongwang, the family held the ceremony at the memorial park in the rain.

A sculpture personally designed by Gu was revealed at the site. The statue portrays Seo with her hands gently clasped and a calm, peaceful expression, offering quiet comfort to those in mourning.

Friends and colleagues were also present, including Kang Won-rae of Clon, Choi Si-won of Super Junior, and comedian Hong Rok-gi, along with Taiwanese actors who had shared a close bond with Seo.

Seo Hee-won was widely known in Korea and across Asia for her role as San-chai in the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden. She also appeared in the drama A Chinese Ghost Story and the film Reign of Assassins.

Gu Jun-yeop and Seo Hee-won drew major attention with their surprise marriage. They officially registered their marriage in February 2022 and lived together in Taiwan. Seo passed away in February last year while on a trip to Japan.
