Global anticipation for BTS's new release is intensifying. On February 4, Spotify announced that pre-saves for BTS's fifth full-length album ARIRANG have surpassed 3 million.
Pre-saves indicate the number of users who add an upcoming release to their libraries in advance. ARIRANG crossed 1 million pre-saves within just two days of opening and has continued its upward trajectory since.
The all-time record for pre-saves stands at around 6 million, currently held by Taylor Swift. Attention is now focused on whether BTS can set a new benchmark.
ARIRANG has also topped Spotify's Countdown Chart Global for two consecutive weeks, a ranking that tracks save counts for upcoming albums and singles.
Momentum is visible across other indicators as well. Following news of the new album and world tour, memberships on fan platform Weverse reportedly tripled.
Meanwhile, previously released tracks "Yet To Come" and "Love Maze" surpassed a combined 100.5 million cumulative streams as of December last year, earning Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
A HYBE representative commented that, ahead of BTS's first full-group comeback in approximately three years and nine months, there has been a renewed movement among fans to reconnect with the group's message.
BTS will release ARIRANG on March 20 at 1 p.m. KST.
