JISOO of BLACKPINK delivers heart-fluttering romance through a virtual dating concept.
On February 5, Netflix unveiled the first poster and teaser for its new series Monthly Boyfriend, written by Namgung Do-young and directed by Kim Jung-sik. The reveal highlights JISOO experiencing a virtual dating service.
Monthly Boyfriend is a romantic comedy about wish fulfillment. The story follows Mi-rae (JISOO), a webtoon PD worn down by real life, who turns to a virtual dating subscription called "Monthly Boyfriend," setting off an unexpected journey of romance.
The poster captures Mi-rae deep in thought, with a floating checklist diagnosing her dating tendencies beside her. The line beneath—"If even one applies, subscribe now"—hints at her hesitation before signing up.
In the teaser, Mi-rae dives fully into the service. Sweet fantasy dates unfold across settings like a romance webtoon world and a springtime campus, amplifying the series' dreamy tone.
JISOO shared, "This is a project ready to deliver vicarious excitement to viewers. I hope it gives those tired of reality a fun and refreshing escape."
Monthly Boyfriend premieres on March 6.
