SEVENTEEN unit DK and Seungkwan have proven their popularity in Japan with another certified release.
On February 10, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced its January Gold Disc certifications. The duo's first mini album Soyeogok received Gold status.
RIAJ awards Gold Disc certifications based on cumulative shipments each month, with thresholds set at Gold (100,000 copies), Platinum (250,000), and Million (1,000,000).
This marks the third time a SEVENTEEN unit has earned a Gold certification. Previous recipients include Jeonghan x Wonwoo's first single album and S.Coups x Mingyu's first mini album.
As a full group, SEVENTEEN now holds a total of 18 RIAJ-certified releases, including Platinum status for their 12th mini album SPILL THE FEELS.
Soyeogok is an emotionally driven album that captures every moment between meeting and parting through refined storytelling. Upon release, it sold close to 100,000 copies in Japan.
The title track Blue has also gained traction, topping Spotify Japan Daily Viral Songs on January 26 and holding the No.1 spot for six consecutive days.
