Actress Jeon Jong-seo has addressed concerns surrounding the delayed registration of her company Summer as an entertainment management business.

On February 10, her agency ANDMARQ stated, "Summer was established for the purpose of content planning, development, and production. It was not intended to operate as a management company."

The agency added, "There were no plans to run a management business, so the need for registration was not recognized. However, after becoming aware of the issue, the company completed official registration on February 4."

Jeon Jong-seo founded Summer in June 2022, appointing herself as CEO and director Lee Chung-hyun as an internal director. Although management was listed among the business categories, the agency clarified that no such operations were carried out.

"Summer handled Lee Chung-hyun's directing and screenwriting contracts, as well as music video production in 2024," the statement said. "It did not engage in artist management."

The agency also denied any tax evasion allegations, emphasizing that all income generated from Jeon Jong-seo's entertainment activities after signing her exclusive contract was paid directly to her as an individual.

Under South Korea's Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act, corporations or individual businesses with more than one person must register as an entertainment management business if they conduct management activities. Failure to register while operating can result in up to two years in prison or fines of up to KRW 20 million.
