Actress Kim Hye-yoon is returning to the big screen with a horror film.
On February 10, the production team of Salmokji released its first teaser trailer. Salmokji is an immersive horror film that follows a filming crew who visit the Salmokji reservoir to investigate a mysterious figure captured on a road-view image—only to encounter a series of unsettling events.
The teaser shows the crew gradually succumbing to fear. It begins calmly, with OnRoad Media PD Soo-in (played by Kim Hye-yoon) stepping into the reservoir area and saying, "This is Salmokji."
The mood shifts as Se-jeong (played by Jang Da-a), who runs a horror exploration channel, appears. She remarks, "Salmokji has long been famous as a place where you can encounter the dead," flaunting her horror-enthusiast knowledge.
The brief calm shatters when an unidentified presence suddenly attacks Kyung-tae (played by Kim Young-sung) and drags him away. Scenes of the remaining team members in sheer terror follow. The teaser closes with an ominous voice warning, "Once you go there, you don't come back alive."
The film is directed by Lee Sang-min, known for short horror works such as Hamjinabi and Dolrimchong. Salmokji marks his first solo feature-length film, aiming to deliver a more realistic and visceral depiction of fear.
Salmokji is scheduled to hit theaters on April 8.
