Allegations surrounding WINNER's Song Mino's alleged negligent alternative military service have become more specific, with prosecutors identifying more than 100 days of unauthorized absence.

According to local reports, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office has specified the number of days Song Mino allegedly failed to report to duty while serving as a public service worker at a community welfare facility in Mapo District.

102 Days of Alleged Unauthorized Absence

The indictment reportedly states that Song Mino was absent without authorization for a total of 102 days. He completed 1 year and 9 months of alternative service, but out of approximately 430 required working days, he is said to have missed 102.

Reports indicate that the number of absences increased as his discharge date approached. In July 2024, during the monsoon season, he allegedly reported to duty for only four days and failed to attend for 19 days that month.

Prosecutors also suspect preferential treatment from a service supervisor identified as "A," who allegedly processed documents and approvals as if Song Mino had attended work despite his absence.

Trial Scheduled for April

Song Mino was indicted without detention in December last year on charges of violating the Military Service Act. His first hearing had initially been set for February 24, but the court accepted a postponement request from his legal team.

The confirmed first trial date is April 21. The case will be handled by the 10th Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court, marking the first formal judicial review of the allegations.

Song Mino was first embroiled in controversy in 2024 over suspicions of inadequate service performance, including repeated leave usage and alleged failure to report to duty.
