Lee Je-hoon and Ha-young are set to team up in a new legal detective drama, marking a fresh on-screen pairing built on sharp character play.
On February 12, SBS announced that the two actors will star in the upcoming series There Is a Chance, written by Jung Jin-young and Kim Ui-chan and directed by Kwon Da-som.
A Comeback Story Against a Giant Law Firm
There Is a Chance is based on the Japanese drama Legal V ~Former Lawyer Takana Shoko~. The story follows a former lawyer-turned-law office manager who takes on a powerful major law firm.
Lee Je-hoon will play Kwon Baek, the office manager of the law firm "Seungsan." Once a lawyer, Kwon Baek lost his license after being entangled in a bribery scandal. He forms an unconventional team and seeks a bold comeback.
No longer a lawyer but even more capable — and more entertaining — as a manager, Kwon Baek approaches cases with composure earned from experiencing both success and downfall. He is known for setting strategic traps to uncover the truth.
Growth, Mentorship, and Reversal
Ha-young takes on the role of rookie lawyer Yeo Sim-hee. She accepts Kwon Baek's recruitment offer without knowing that her role model was involved in a bribery scandal.
Initially disappointed by her fallen idol, she later discovers that Kwon Baek is always thinking several steps ahead. Under his guidance, she matures into a full-fledged lawyer, forming a dynamic partnership at the heart of the story.
Director Kwon Da-som, recognized for her work on Connection and My Demon, will helm the project, while veteran writers Jung Jin-young and Kim Ui-chan of Soonpoong Clinic pen the script.
The production team expressed confidence in the cast's chemistry, highlighting the actors' strong performances and appealing character synergy. There Is a Chance is scheduled to premiere next year.
