Lee Seo Jin is stepping onto the theater stage for the first time since his debut, marking a major milestone 27 years into his career.
His agency Antenna announced that Lee Seo Jin will star in the play "Uncle Vanya," running from May 7 to May 31 at LG Arts Center Seoul.
A Classic Reimagined at LG Arts Center
"Uncle Vanya" is one of the most celebrated works by Russian literary giant Anton Chekhov. Following "The Cherry Orchard" and "Hedda Gabler," this production marks the third classic staged by LG Arts Center.
Lee Seo Jin takes on the titular role of Vanya, a man who constantly voices dissatisfaction and skepticism about life, yet still holds onto affection for his family and a sense of idealism about his dreams.
First Theater Challenge in a 27-Year Career
Although Lee Seo Jin has built a strong presence across dramas, films, and variety shows, this will be his first appearance in a theatrical production. With "Uncle Vanya," he begins a new chapter in his acting journey.
He will share the stage with Go Ah Sung, who plays Sonya. The cast also includes Yang Jong Wook, Kim Soo Hyun, Cho Young Gyu, Lee Hwa Jung, Min Yoon Jae, and Byun Yoon Jung. The production will be performed with a single cast lineup.
The first round of tickets for "Uncle Vanya" will open on February 27 at 2 PM (KST) via the LG Arts Center Seoul website and major ticketing platforms.
