Singer Jeong Dong Won begins his military service today.

On February 23, Jeong Dong Won entered the Marine Corps Education and Training Group in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province. His agency, Showplay Entertainment, stated that he will faithfully carry out his national defense duties.

A Decision Rooted in Long-Held Determination

The agency explained that the enlistment reflects a long-standing personal commitment. According to the statement, Jeong Dong Won made the responsible choice to honor a promise he had made to himself.

They also asked for continued encouragement from fans, expressing hope that he will return in a more mature and strengthened state. The company added that they will continue to support him unwaveringly while awaiting his discharge.

Recent Activities Before Enlistment

Prior to enlistment, Jeong Dong Won remained active in music. On February 5, he released his remake mini album "Sopumjip Vol.2." He also met fans at a fan concert held at KINTEX in Ilsan on February 13.

Jeong Dong Won is scheduled to be discharged on August 22, 2027.
