BTS will stage a one-hour free comeback performance at Gwanghwamun in Seoul next month, marking their long-awaited full-group return.
On March 21, BTS will celebrate the release of their fifth full-length album "ARIRANG" with a special outdoor show in Gwanghwamun. It will be their first group comeback in three years and nine months following their military hiatus.
Safety-First Decision
On February 28, HYBE clarified that the performance will run for one hour, stating the decision was made to ensure safe and smooth operations.
Given the unique nature of an outdoor public venue, the agency explained that stage management, crowd safety protocols, and on-site control plans were comprehensively reviewed before finalizing the schedule.
HYBE emphasized that the shortened duration was not due to municipal administrative restrictions, addressing online speculation. The agency stressed that minimizing safety risks, ensuring effective crowd control, reducing late-night noise, and considering public transportation convenience were key factors.

Global Live Broadcast
BTS will premiere new songs from "ARIRANG" during the event. The performance will be streamed worldwide via Netflix, allowing global fans to join the historic comeback stage.
In addition to new tracks, the setlist is expected to include globally beloved hit songs. Concert officials noted that discussions are underway to present a comprehensive lineup spanning BTS's career.
Massive Demand and Crowd Estimates
Ticket reservations opened on February 23, and all 13,000 general seats sold out immediately. Waiting numbers reportedly surged to 100,000 at peak traffic.
Authorities are prioritizing public safety. Police estimate that approximately 230,000 people may gather near Deoksugung's Daehanmun Gate and up to 260,000 near Sungnyemun.
In related measures, Gyeongbokgung Palace will close for the day on March 21. The Cultural Heritage Administration's Palace and Tomb Center confirmed the temporary closure, noting that the palace's usual weekly closure day is Tuesday.
BTS's Gwanghwamun performance is set to become one of the largest public comeback stages in K-pop history.
