Kim You-jung and Park Jinyoung are set to headline a dangerous spy romance.
The two actors will star in tvN's upcoming drama 100 Days of Lies, written by Ryu Bori and directed by Yoo In-sik. The series is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year.
100 Days of Lies follows the story of Gyeongseong's most skilled pickpocket who infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea disguised as a trainee interpreter, where she falls in love with a newly appointed interpreter.
Kim You-jung will play Lee Ga-kyung, a pickpocket who becomes a spy after accepting a proposal from the patriotic resistance group Gugukdan. She infiltrates the Japanese Government-General as part of her mission.
Kim shared, "It's an honor to be part of such a meaningful project. I hope it becomes a warm story that encourages reflection on history and life."
Park Jinyoung will portray Sato Hideo, the adopted son of the Vice Minister of Government-General Affairs, who also lives under the Korean identity Kim Tae-woong as an interpreter. Fluent in English, Japanese, and Korean, he carries out crucial missions.
Park commented, "Since the drama is set in a painful era, we are filming carefully and thoughtfully. I will do my best to deliver a meaningful project."
The cast also includes Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Moo-saeng, and Jin Sun-kyu. Kim Hyun-joo plays Yoo So-ran, a sniper for the resistance group Gugukdan who proposes a deal to Lee Ga-kyung.
Lee Moo-saeng appears as Yoo Philip, who enters a fake marriage with Yoo So-ran and uses his position as a Gyeongseong correspondent for an American newspaper to shake the power of Vice Minister Sato Shin-ichi.
Jin Sun-kyu takes on the role of Sato Shin-ichi, a man willing to do anything for success and promotion, and the primary target of Gugukdan.
Director Yoo In-sik, known for works such as Dr. Romantic and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, is leading the project. Writer Ryu Bori, who previously penned Do You Like Brahms? and Trolley, is responsible for the script.
100 Days of Lies is slated to air in the second half of this year.
