Beef Season 2 Sets April 16 Premiere—Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho Enter a Tense Psychological Game

Netflix has confirmed the return of its hit series Beef. Season 2 will premiere on April 16, unveiling a new story filled with psychological tension. The streaming platform released a teaser trailer and first-look stills on March 6.

The teaser opens with a line from Josh (Oscar Isaac), the general manager of a country club. "Do you know why our members spend so much money to come here?" he asks, setting the tone for the uneasy atmosphere.

Two Couples, Two Very Different Lives

The preview introduces two couples with contrasting circumstances.

Millennial couple Josh and Lindsey (Carey Mulligan) appear exhausted, hinting that they are struggling through a serious crisis. In contrast, Gen Z pair Austin (Charles Melton) and Ashley (Cailee Spaeny) seem affectionate and hopeful as they exchange engagement rings.

The story also introduces billionaire country club owner Chairman Park (Youn Yuh-jung) and her second husband, Dr. Kim (Song Kang-ho). The two share a tense, unreadable gaze, foreshadowing a complex relationship.

Hidden Conflicts Inside the Country Club

The newly released still images reveal the characters in moments of mounting tension.

Josh is seen making a serious phone call in his role as general manager, while Lindsey spends a calm moment walking her dog. Meanwhile, Austin and Ashley appear far less stable, either staring at their phones at home or secretly observing something from behind the country club's walls.

Chairman Park enters the club with commanding authority, radiating the charisma of a billionaire owner. In contrast, Dr. Kim stands in an operating room looking nervously at his phone, hinting at a possible scandal connected to Chairman Park.

Another still shows Josh and Lindsey caught during a heated marital argument. Austin and Ashley sit on the floor of a dimly lit home, speaking quietly as an uneasy mood fills the scene.

Expanding the World of the Emmy-Winning Series

Beef Season 2 follows a young couple who witness a shocking confrontation between their boss and his wife at the country club. What begins as a moment of curiosity quickly spirals into a dangerous psychological battle involving two couples and a powerful Korean hotel owner.

The new season features a star-studded cast including Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and William Fichtner. Korean actors Youn Yuh-jung, Song Kang-ho, and Jang Seo-yeon also join the lineup.

The first season of Beef became a critical phenomenon. At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2024, it won eight major trophies, including directing, writing, lead actor, lead actress, supporting actor and actress, casting, editing, costume design, and sound.

Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, all scheduled to be released on April 16.
