Google has introduced a special Easter egg feature designed for global K-pop fans.
Google Korea announced on March 6 that it launched interactive search features celebrating the global momentum of major K-pop artists including IVE, BLACKPINK, and BTS.
Interactive Search Effects for IVE and BLACKPINK
When users search for IVE, a black star icon appears at the bottom of the screen. Clicking the icon activates a fireworks effect, with bursts appearing each time the screen is tapped.
Searching BLACKPINK triggers a pink mist effect across the screen. By repeatedly tapping the heart button at the bottom, the fog clears, revealing black and pink heart bubbles that fill the display.
BTS Comeback Quiz Event
Google also prepared a special feature celebrating BTS's full-group comeback.
Scanning the QR code that appears on the search page leads users to a quiz interface. Fans can answer BTS-related questions and collect rewards as part of the experience.
New BTS-related content will roll out weekly over approximately three weeks. On March 20, the day of BTS's comeback, an additional feature dedicated to ARMY (the group's fandom) will also be released.
A Google Korea representative explained that the Easter egg project was created to celebrate K-pop's rise as a major global cultural force and to provide an event that fans around the world can enjoy together without language barriers.
