BLACKPINK has entered the top tier of the Billboard main chart with their latest release.
According to a chart preview article published by Billboard on March 9 (KST), BLACKPINK's third mini album DEADLINE debuted at No.8 on the Billboard 200.
Strong Physical Sales Drive Chart Performance
The Billboard 200 ranks albums based on physical sales, streaming-equivalent albums (SEA), and track-equivalent albums (TEA).
During the tracking period, DEADLINE recorded 52,000 units in total. Among them, 41,000 units came from physical album sales, while 11,000 units were from SEA, with TEA contributing a minimal amount.
Billboard noted that 94% of the album's first-week sales came from CD purchases, supported by 13 different physical versions of the release.
Third Top 10 Entry on Billboard 200
With DEADLINE, BLACKPINK secured their third album in the Billboard 200 Top 10. It also marks their return to the chart as a full-group release three years after BORN PINK.
The album explores themes surrounding an irreversible, defining moment in life. It includes the title track GO, along with pre-release single Run, Me and My, and Champion.
Meanwhile, pop star Bruno Mars topped the Billboard 200 this week with his new album The Romantic.
