IU and Byeon Woo-seok are set to form a fateful partnership in a new drama.
The two actors will star in MBC's upcoming Friday–Saturday drama "The Grand Prince's Bride of the 21st Century." IU plays chaebol heiress Seong Hee-joo, while Byeon Woo-seok takes on the role of Grand Prince Ian, the king's second son.
Couple Poster Unveils Their Shared Destiny
The newly released couple poster captures the pair standing side by side, appearing united in pursuit of the same goal. Seong Hee-joo and Grand Prince Ian gaze toward the same direction, reflecting a firm sense of determination.
Their visual chemistry also stands out. Both wear white-toned outfits accented with Korean-inspired patterns and accessories, highlighting a refined and elegant aesthetic.
Contract Marriage That Changes Their Lives
The production team explained that while Seong Hee-joo and Grand Prince Ian may seem to have everything on the surface, each carries inner emptiness shaped by their circumstances.
Their lives take a dramatic turn when they choose to enter a contract marriage. The story will follow how they overcome personal limits and eventually begin to share the same dream.
"The Grand Prince's Bride of the 21st Century" tells the story of a woman who is a wealthy chaebol but holds the status of a commoner, and a royal prince who, despite being the king's son, possesses nothing.
The drama is scheduled to premiere on April 10.
