Park Jin Young will step down from his position as an internal director at JYP Entertainment while continuing his role overseeing the company's creative direction.
JYP Entertainment announced on March 10 that Park Jin Young will not proceed with the reappointment process for his internal director position at the shareholders' meeting scheduled for March 26.
Focus on External Activities for the K-Pop Industry
According to the agency, Park Jin Young plans to concentrate on external responsibilities moving forward.
He will continue his creative work as an artist, mentor younger musicians, and contribute to broader initiatives supporting the global K-Pop industry.
Although the company did not disclose a specific reason for his resignation, the reference to "external activities" suggests he may focus more on his role as co-chair of the Presidential Committee for Cultural Exchange in Popular Culture, a position he has held since October last year.
Legacy as a Producer and Industry Leader
Park Jin Young debuted as a singer in 1994 and gained popularity with hit songs such as Honey and Don't Leave Me.
In 1997, he founded JYP Entertainment, which later debuted some of the most influential K-Pop artists, including god, Wonder Girls, 2PM, TWICE, and Stray Kids.
