Japanese rock star Miyavi will make a special appearance in a Korean drama.
How to Become a Building Owner in Korea confirmed on March 12 that Miyavi will appear as a villain in the upcoming weekend series written by Oh Han-gi and directed by Lim Pil-sung.
Miyavi is widely known as one of Japan's representative guitarists. He debuted in 1999 as a member of the band Dué le Quartz and began his career as a solo artist in 2002.
First Appearance in a Korean Drama
This marks Miyavi's first appearance in a Korean television drama. He will portray Morgan Lee, an executive at Real Capital who pushes forward a redevelopment project, intensifying tension in the story.
Newly released still images show Morgan Lee attending a redevelopment event on Sejeong-ro, where the building owned by the main character Ki Su-jong—played by Ha Jung-woo—is located. His cryptic smile hints at the conflict to come.
Rising Tension Between the Villains
Another antagonist, Yona—played by Shim Eun-kyung—also appears in the stills. She is seen secretly reporting to Morgan Lee, raising curiosity about the scheme they are plotting and the chaos it may bring.
The production team explained that Real Capital is portrayed as a mysterious organization, adding that Morgan Lee will provoke Yona and pressure Ki Su-jong, driving the drama's tension.
"How to Become a Building Owner in Korea" tells the story of an ordinary landlord who becomes involved in a staged kidnapping in order to protect both his family and his building. The drama premieres on March 14.
