KPop Demon Hunters is officially returning with a sequel.
According to reports from Bloomberg and other U.S. outlets on March 12 (local time), Netflix confirmed production of KPop Demon Hunters 2. The platform also signed a multi-year writing and directing partnership with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
Maggie Kang expressed pride in the global response to the story. "As a Korean filmmaker, I feel proud that people want to see more stories and characters from Korea," she said. "There is still so much more to show in the world we created. This is only the beginning."
Chris Appelhans also shared his enthusiasm for continuing the story. He described the characters as "family" and said their world has become a "second home." He added that expanding the universe where music, animation, and storytelling intersect is an exciting opportunity.
