Actor Park Shin Hye has made a meaningful donation to help vulnerable families.

According to the international relief and development NGO Korea Food for the Hungry International, Park Shin Hye donated 100 million KRW to support single-parent households.

The donation will be used to assist families facing economic and emotional hardship. Funds will provide practical support, including living expenses and child-rearing assistance.

Inspired by Her Role in Undercover Miss Hong

The donation was inspired by her role in the tvN drama Undercover Miss Hong. While portraying the character Hong Geum-bo, Park Shin Hye said she deeply empathized with the struggles of single-parent families.

Her agency explained that the actor wanted to share warmth and support with families facing challenges similar to those experienced by the characters Mi-suk and Bom-i in the drama.

A Decade of Consistent Philanthropy

Park Shin Hye has been involved in charitable work for more than a decade. She has maintained a long-standing partnership with Korea Food for the Hungry International since 2011, serving as a goodwill ambassador.

Her philanthropy extends both domestically and internationally. Through the "Starlight Angel Project," launched in 2012 with her fans and agency, she has continued supporting communities in need.

As part of the initiative, Park Shin Hye helped build multipurpose education centers known as "Shinhye Centers" in Ghana (2012) and the Philippines (2016). Last year, she also contributed to heating support programs for vulnerable households in Korea.
