The Korean film King and the Man has officially crossed the 13-million-viewer milestone, continuing its strong box-office momentum.
According to the Korean Film Council's Integrated Computer Network for Movie Tickets, the film drew 1,253,764 moviegoers over the weekend (March 13–15). Its cumulative audience now stands at 13,467,844.
The film has climbed to No. 8 on the all-time Korean box office chart. It has surpassed major hits such as The Host (2006), 12.12: The Day (2023), and Veteran (2024). It is now closing in on No. 7, Avatar (2009), trailing by only about 180,000 viewers.
A top-five finish is also within reach. The film's momentum remains strong, with roughly 670,000 viewers separating it from Avengers: Endgame (2019), which recorded 13.93 million admissions in Korea.
King and the Man is set during the reign of King Danjong, the sixth monarch of the Joseon Dynasty. The story follows the exiled young king, a village chief who cares for him, and the residents of Gwangcheon Valley, delivering an emotional historical narrative.
Meanwhile, Hoppers ranked No. 2 at the weekend box office with 173,245 viewers. Samakdo followed in third place with 38,158 admissions.
