Cha Eun-woo to Hold Photo Exhibition in Japan…"No Event Appearance Due to Military Status"
by. ymchoi

Cha Eun-woo will take his first official step since the tax controversy, with a photo exhibition in Japan.

His agency Fantagio confirmed the news on March 16 in a phone interview, stating that Cha Eun-woo will hold a photo exhibition titled After Image in Japan.

The company explained that the project had already been contracted in August last year. The exhibition is proceeding according to the schedule agreed upon at that time.

Cha Eun-woo will not attend the event in person. Fantagio clarified that the exhibition does not involve commercial activity requiring his participation, and that the matter was confirmed in advance with the Ministry of National Defense because he is currently serving in the military.

After Image will run from March 28 to May 12 in central Ginza, Tokyo. The exhibition will showcase behind-the-scenes photos from Cha Eun-woo's activities.

Cha Eun-woo faced tax controversy in January after reports emerged that the National Tax Service imposed an additional tax bill of around 20 billion KRW.

Authorities reportedly suspected possible tax avoidance, alleging that Cha Eun-woo established a family company to be taxed under corporate tax rates (10–20 percent) instead of the higher personal income tax rate (45 percent).

At the time, Cha Eun-woo posted an apology on social media, saying he would humbly accept the final decision of the relevant authorities and take full responsibility accordingly.
