BTS Turns Seoul Into a Citywide Festival for Comeback 'ARIRANG'
by. ymchoi

BTS is transforming Seoul into a massive global fan festival.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will host The City Seoul from March 20 to April 19, celebrating BTS's comeback and welcoming global ARMY visiting the city.

Seoul Lights Up for BTS Comeback

Across Seoul, streets and landmarks will be rebranded for the comeback. Welcome banners will line Sejong-daero, while media facades across 10 locations will display multilingual messages for fans in seven languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese.

The main festivities begin on March 20, the release date of BTS's new album ARIRANG. That evening, media facade shows will illuminate iconic landmarks such as Sungnyemun Gate and N Seoul Tower starting at 7 p.m., painting the skyline with visuals inspired by the album.

At Gwanghwamun Square, a large-scale live screening of BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG will take place. Fans will witness BTS's first full-group performance in approximately 3 years and 9 months in real time.

Drone Shows, Purple Landmarks, and Han River Events

The celebration continues with a drone light show at Ttukseom Hangang Park at 8:30 p.m., where hundreds of drones will form BTS-themed visuals in the night sky.

Following the comeback stage, major Seoul landmarks—including Seoul Botanic Park, Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain, World Cup Bridge, N Seoul Tower, and Lotte World Tower—will glow purple from March 20–21, symbolizing BTS and ARMY.

Banpo Hangang Park will also host special Rainbow Fountain shows on March 21–22. The city will open rooftop access at seven Han River bus terminals, offering panoramic views of the illuminated skyline.

Additionally, unlimited one-day Han River bus passes will be available on March 20–21, allowing fans to explore the citywide events seamlessly.

Citywide Fan Experience Extends Into April

The City Seoul will run through mid-April, expanding the experience beyond the comeback. BTS will launch their ARIRANG world tour with concerts at Goyang Stadium from April 9–12.

Dongdaemun Design Plaza will operate a music light show from March 20 to April 12, while Cheonggyecheon will transform into an immersive "ARIRANG Light Walk" from April 6–19.

The city will also introduce a K-pop walking tour connecting BTS music video locations and company headquarters, alongside a stamp rally program encouraging fans to explore key event sites.

Meanwhile, BTS will kick off global promotions following their Seoul comeback, including a special event in New York on March 23, titled Spotify x BTS: Swimside.
