Director Yeon Sang-ho is set to introduce a new evolution of the zombie genre with his upcoming film.
On March 19, the production team of "Colony" unveiled its first launch stills, showcasing never-before-seen visuals of infected beings. Covered in blood and paired with mysterious, slime-like imagery, the infected hint at the emergence of a completely new species, amplifying a sense of unfamiliar horror.
"Colony" follows a group of survivors trapped inside a quarantined building during an unidentified outbreak. As the infected evolve into unpredictable forms, the survivors must fight for survival against an ever-changing threat.

Jun Ji-hyun plays Kwon Se-jeong, a character observing the movements of the infected while trapped inside the building. Koo Kyo-hwan takes on the role of Seo Young-chul, maintaining a resolute and composed demeanor. Ji Chang-wook appears as Choi Hyun-seok, staying by the side of Kim Shin-rok's character Choi Hyun-hee, who is in a wheelchair. Shin Hyun-been plays Gong Seol-hee, seen making a tense phone call.
With a strong ensemble cast including Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo, the film aims to deliver another leap in the zombie genre through its reimagined infected species.
"Colony" is scheduled to premiere in theaters this May.
