Story of King Danjong and Unlikely Friendship
Set during the Joseon Dynasty, the film follows the story of King Danjong, the sixth king who was dethroned and exiled. It portrays the lives of the former king, a village head, and the people of Gwangcheon Valley.
Yoo Hae-jin stars as village chief Eom Hong-do, while Park Ji-hoon plays King Danjong (Lee Hong-wi). The film delivers emotional depth through a friendship that transcends social status between royalty and a local villager.
Meanwhile, "Project Hail Mary" ranked No. 2 at the weekend box office with 430,081 viewers, followed by "Hoppers" in third place with 88,781.
