Park Hae-soo is making his long-awaited return to the small screen. The actor takes on the role of a detective chasing the truth behind a series of murders.

He will star in ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama Scarecrow, written by Lee Ji-hyun and directed by Park Joon-woo. Park plays Kang Tae-joo, a detective known for his tenacity, sharp instincts, and meticulous observation skills.

A Tense Partnership with a Former Rival

While investigating a string of serial killings, Kang Tae-joo encounters someone from his past—Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-jun), now a prosecutor. Their complicated history sets the stage for a tense and uneasy investigative alliance.

Still cuts released alongside the announcement heighten anticipation. Kang Tae-joo is seen standing among uniformed officers, his serious demeanor contrasting with subtle shifts in expression that hint at deeper layers to the character.

A Detective Driven by Conviction

The drama also depicts Kang Tae-joo after being reassigned from Seoul to a provincial area, where mysterious murder cases continue to unfold. His piercing gaze and relentless approach to each crime scene underscore his dedication.

This marks Park Hae-soo's first return to a television drama in approximately five years, following his work primarily in OTT series. He shared, "It feels like greeting viewers again in a new way, so I'm both nervous and excited."

Explaining his choice, he said, "I was drawn to the narrative strength of Scarecrow and the emotional weight Kang Tae-joo carries as he confronts and endures each case."

He added, "Kang Tae-joo is someone who stands firmly by his principles. He tries to understand and embrace the pain of victims and those around them. Even as he fails, struggles, and breaks, he continues to fight against injustice."

Scarecrow follows a detective who, while pursuing a serial killer, is forced into an unexpected collaboration with someone he once despised. The drama is set to premiere on April 20.
