BTS's comeback show reached a massive global audience, with millions tuning in via Netflix.
Netflix announced on March 25 the official results for BTS COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG, marking the platform's first-ever live concert broadcast. Advanced technologies such as Open Connect and multi-encoder switching were utilized for the event.
18.4 Million Viewers, Global No.1 Ranking
The results were significant. A total of 18.4 million viewers watched the live broadcast on the day of the event.
According to Netflix's official site Tudum, the show ranked No.1 on the Global Top 10 Non-English TV chart (March 16–22), recording 14.4 million viewing hours.
It also entered the Top 10 in 80 countries and regions, hitting No.1 in 24 markets including South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Latvia.
Massive Production Scale Behind the Show
The production scale further underscored its impact. Staff from 10 countries participated, with 23 cameras and 124 broadcast monitors deployed.
The event processed 40 terabytes of server capacity and 108 terabytes of filming data, demonstrating large-scale live production and streaming capabilities.
A Netflix representative stated, "We contributed to the global expansion of Korean culture through K-content, and expanded further with BTS and K-pop."
They added, "We will continue introducing Korean content to global audiences through diverse formats and genres."
Meanwhile, BTS made their comeback on March 20 with their fifth full-length album Arirang and are set to appear on ABC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 26 (KST).
