Danielle vs ADOR Lawsuit Begins, Sharp Dispute Emerges From Outset
by. ymchoi

The legal battle between Danielle and ADOR has officially begun, with both sides showing significant differences in position from the very first hearing.

The 31st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court held the first preparatory hearing on March 26 regarding the damages lawsuit filed by ADOR against Danielle's side and former CEO Min Hee-jin.

Disagreement Over Trial Direction

During the initial session, both parties discussed litigation plans, including the scope of evidence review and whether to proceed with witness examinations.

ADOR argued that Danielle's alleged violations are extensive and stated it plans to conduct broad witness questioning to substantiate its claims.

In contrast, Danielle's side urged for a swift conclusion, arguing that key issues have already been sufficiently revealed through prior cases, including disputes over shareholder agreements and the validity of exclusive contracts.

Clashing Legal Strategies

Danielle's representatives emphasized urgency, stating, "This is a crucial time for an idol's career. The issues and evidence have already been presented," calling for expedited proceedings.

ADOR countered that the current case concerns damages and penalty claims, not the exclusive contract itself, and therefore does not directly restrict Danielle's entertainment activities.

Danielle's side also criticized ADOR for not submitting a concrete plan for witness examination and evidence at the time of filing the lawsuit.

ADOR responded that the number of alleged violations is substantial and that additional time is needed to organize a witness list, as Danielle's side denies all allegations.

Court Requests and Next Steps

The court requested ADOR to provide a detailed explanation regarding "tampering," including relevant legal precedents from international or sports-related cases.

When asked about the possibility of settlement, ADOR left the door open, while Danielle's side stated it is not under consideration.

The court concluded by noting the difficulty in finding precedents for agency dispute cases and suggested keeping the option of mediation open.

The next hearing is scheduled for May 14 at 3:10 PM.
