Pre-debut trainee group SMTR25 is already facing serious privacy violations, prompting agency action.
SM Entertainment released an official statement on March 25, warning of escalating incidents involving so-called "sasaeng" fans—individuals who excessively stalk or invade the privacy of artists.
Severe Privacy Violations Reported
According to the agency, multiple incidents have occurred, including unauthorized entry into dormitories, excessive physical contact, and fans forcibly joining taxis with members.
"These actions are causing extreme distress to the trainees," SM stated.
The issue has also extended beyond the group. Residents in the same building have reportedly suffered from noise disturbances, illegal trash disposal, and repeated trespassing into restricted areas.
Agency Announces Zero-Tolerance Response
SM emphasized that these actions are particularly serious given that the members have not yet officially debuted, adding that the situation has created ongoing anxiety in their daily lives.
Despite prior measures—including verbal warnings and the presence of security personnel—the situation has not improved.
The agency warned it will now take strong legal action under a zero-tolerance policy if the behavior continues, citing the need to protect both the trainees and nearby residents.
Pre-Debut Group Under Spotlight
SMTR25 is a 15-member male trainee team introduced by SM Entertainment last year, with one unit expected to debut later this year.
SM concluded by stating it will continue to take all necessary steps to protect its trainees and artists moving forward.
