BTS Ignites 'The Tonight Show,' Even Jimmy Fallon Can't Contain the Energy
by. ymchoi

BTS made a full-group return to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, delivering a night packed with explosive energy and fan-focused moments.

Appearing on March 26 (KST) following the release of their new album ARIRANG, BTS reunited with host Jimmy Fallon for the first time in five years. Fallon welcomed them enthusiastically, calling it a return "to their second home."

A Fiery Opening and Playful Chemistry

From the start, the atmosphere was electric. BTS surprised fans by entering through the audience, exchanging high-fives as cheers roared for over two minutes.

Fallon greeted the group with open arms, while BTS gifted him Korean indoor slippers, creating a warm and playful exchange.

Speaking about the comeback, RM explained, "Arirang is a traditional Korean song that carries emotions like joy, sorrow, longing, and resistance." He added that the album title reflects their hope for the music to resonate universally while representing their Korean roots.

Reunion Stories and Fan Moments

The members also shared lighthearted stories from their time apart. Jungkook said he missed Jimin's gochujang stew, while Jimin promised to cook for him again.

V joked about missing Jungkook's teasing, which briefly caused a humorous misunderstanding in the audience, leading to laughter from Fallon and the crowd.

A special segment was dedicated to fans (ARMY), where selected fans recorded SWIM in a studio booth—only to be surprised by BTS appearing in person. Emotional reactions filled the room as fans were left stunned and overwhelmed.

Performance at the Guggenheim

The highlight of the night was the performance of SWIM, staged at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

BTS entered along the museum's iconic spiral ramp before performing on the central stage. Holding handheld microphones, they delivered a live performance paired with fluid choreography, creating a stage that resembled a work of art.

Notably, RM—who had previously performed seated due to an ankle injury during the Gwanghwamun stage—returned fully recovered, reassuring fans with a complete performance.

Meanwhile, BTS will continue appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon through March 27 before returning to Korea to kick off their ARIRANG world tour from April 9 to 12.
