Woo Do-hwan vs Jung Ji-hoon: Bloodhounds 2 Unleashes Upgraded Bare-Knuckle Action
by. ymchoi

Bloodhounds returns with a broader action universe, raising expectations for a more intense and cathartic sequel.

Expanded Scale, Sharper Impact

On March 27, Netflix unveiled new action stills from Bloodhounds 2, highlighting upgraded impact, speed, and scale. The series continues its signature "bare-knuckle" combat style, now amplified across more dynamic environments.

The story follows Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi), who once took down illegal loan sharks. In Season 2, they confront a global underground boxing league fueled by money and violence—delivering another powerful strike against corruption.

Evolved Fighters, Distinct Styles

Gun-woo returns with a more refined fighting style. Initially rooted in heavy, orthodox power boxing, he evolves into a more adaptive and strategic fighter, blending technique with situational awareness. Woo Do-hwan emphasized that he trained extensively to portray a stronger, more developed version of the character.

Woo-jin, on the other hand, relies on speed and intelligence. His agile footwork and sharp combinations allow him to exploit openings and control the rhythm of fights. This season also explores his emotional growth, as he becomes more mature and desperate in his efforts to protect his family. Lee Sang-yi described his character's transformation into a faster, stronger "counter southpaw" fighter.

A Ruthless Villain Enters the Ring

The stakes rise with the arrival of Baek-jeong, played by Jung Ji-hoon. Described as a "human weapon," the character combines power, speed, and advanced technique, making him a near-perfect fighter.

The action director explained that Baek-jeong is a ruthless figure who uses both hands freely and employs high-level boxing techniques without hesitation. His fights are designed to showcase both technical precision and brutal intensity.

Action Beyond the Ring

With Baek-jeong operating a global illegal boxing league, the series expands beyond traditional boxing rings. Fights unfold across diverse settings—including homes, octagon arenas, warehouses, and parking lots—each designed with distinct rhythm and atmosphere.

Production emphasized that the action is not only about spectacle but also about emotional storytelling, carefully structuring tension and payoff within each sequence.

Bloodhounds 2 premieres globally on April 3 via Netflix.
