BTS has set a new personal record, achieving another career high with their latest album.
According to Hanteo Chart, BTS's fifth full-length album ARIRANG surpassed 4,169,464 copies in first-week sales. On its first day alone, the album sold an impressive 3.98 million copies.
Breaking Their Own Records Again
This milestone surpasses BTS's previous first-week record of 3.37 million copies set by MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, further solidifying their dominance in album sales.
Global Charts Swept Across Platforms
ARIRANG is also performing strongly on global streaming platforms. As of March 27, it ranked No. 1 on album charts in 115 countries and regions on Apple Music.
On release day, the album recorded the highest number of streams among BTS's discography, with streaming figures increasing more than eightfold compared to the monthly average.
"SWIM" Dominates Worldwide
The title track "SWIM" has also seen massive success, holding the No. 1 spot on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart for six consecutive days (March 20–25).
In Japan, BTS continues to demonstrate unmatched influence. ARIRANG debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking, marking their seventh chart-topping album. It also achieved a triple crown, topping the Weekly Album Ranking and Weekly Digital Album Ranking while recording the highest weekly sales among international artists this year.
A Record-Defining Era Continues
The album explores BTS's identity and universal emotions experienced throughout life. Bang Si-hyuk led the overall production.
"SWIM," co-written by RM, delivers a message of perseverance—encouraging listeners to keep moving forward despite life's waves.
Meanwhile, BTS recently appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, reconnecting with global audiences following their comeback.
