The upcoming film Hind's Voice brings global attention to the devastating realities of Gaza, with prominent Korean actors lending their voices in support.
A Story Based on Real Events
Set during the January 29, 2024 bombing in Gaza, the film follows the harrowing story of a six-year-old girl trapped alone in a bombed vehicle. It depicts the real-life emergency call center efforts of the Red Crescent as they attempted to rescue her.
The project is backed by internationally acclaimed figures, including Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Alfonso Cuarón, and Jonathan Glazer. In Korea, So Ji-sub participated as a co-provider.
Korean Actors Amplify the Message
So Ji-sub, Bae Doona, and Lee Joo-young contributed narration for the trailer, expressing their support and empathy for the film's message.
So Ji-sub emphasized that the film is grounded in real events and incorporates Hind's actual voice. Bae Doona underscored the urgency of revisiting the story now, stating her intention to ensure that Hind's voice is not forgotten.
Lee Joo-young shared that the film left her deeply shaken, noting that the emotional weight extended far beyond Gaza, resonating even thousands of kilometers away.
A Difficult but Necessary Watch
The actors described the film as one that cannot be easily categorized as simply "good" or "recommended," given the gravity of its subject. Instead, they expressed hope that more audiences will confront and reflect on its message.
Hind's Voice is scheduled for release on April 15.
