ILLIT is gearing up for a comeback designed to resonate deeply with their generation.
The group unveiled the tracklist for their 4th mini album MAMIHLAPINATAPAI on March 31 via HYBE Labels' official YouTube channel. The release includes five tracks: the title song "It's Me," alongside "GRWM (Get Ready With Me)," "paw, paw!," "MAMIHLAPINATAPAI," and "Love, older you."
A Bold Confession, Youthful Emotions
"It's Me" captures the moment after a first date when feelings intensify and questions about defining the relationship arise. The track delivers a confident message—"Your favorite is me!"—with lyrics penned by singer-songwriter Yura and producer The Deep.
Following the quirky charm shown in their previous title track "NOT CUTE ANYMORE," ILLIT reunites with Yura, aiming to amplify their signature playful yet relatable identity.
Personal Stories, First Songwriting Credit
The album reflects the everyday thoughts and emotions of Gen Z. "GRWM" portrays intimate moments of sharing honest feelings, while "paw, paw!" expresses affection toward a beloved pet.
Notably, member Iroha participated in songwriting for "paw, paw!," marking her first lyric credit since debut. Drawing from her own experiences, she adds a layer of authenticity to the album. Bang Si-hyuk also contributed, enhancing the emotional depth.
The track "MAMIHLAPINATAPAI" explores the mindset of modern youth navigating countless choices and responsibilities, often becoming "lazy perfectionists." Meanwhile, "Love, older you" takes the form of a letter addressed to one's younger self, incorporating the members' real-life stories.
Visual Concept Meets Musical Spectrum
The tracklist was revealed through a motion poster inspired by a DVD screensaver. Each time the album logo collided with the screen edges, its color shifted—visually representing ILLIT's diverse concept range and musical spectrum.
ILLIT will officially release MAMIHLAPINATAPAI on April 30 at 6 PM KST across major streaming platforms.
