A new Korean crime drama is gearing up to shake the genre. PAMUN (working title) brings together a strong ensemble cast and a high-stakes family narrative centered on power, legacy, and betrayal.
The film follows the aftermath of the death of the eldest heir in the Yedong Kwon family, a clan that has carried on a dangerous illegal business for generations. As the question of succession arises, uncontrollable conflict erupts within the family.
Byun Yo-han plays Park Gi-tae, a loyal aide who has long handled the family's dirty work. After the death of his close friend's father, he steps forward to ensure that Kwon Do-young inherits the position.
Esom takes on the role of Kwon So-hyun, the eldest daughter who left the family behind to escape its dangerous legacy. Returning after years, she finds herself at the center of an unpredictable succession battle.
Kim Jun-han portrays Kwon Do-young, the rightful heir struggling to gain recognition from the family elders. Torn between self-doubt and ambition, he leans on Gi-tae and his sister while grappling with his desire to prove himself.
Veteran actor Kim Jong-soo joins as Kwon Byung-ryeol, the ambitious uncle vying for control of the family's empire.
A High-Tension Collaboration
PAMUN is produced by Star Platinum, the company behind the Netflix film Good News. Rising director Kim Sun-kyung takes on both writing and directing duties for her first commercial feature.
Adding further weight, director Byun Sung-hyun—known for The Merciless and Good News—joins as co-writer, elevating expectations for tightly crafted tension and genre depth.
Filming officially begins this month, with a theatrical release slated for next year.
