A Fate-Bound Encounter Between Human and Gumiho
Human X Gumiho tells the story of a seductive gumiho who charms humans and a man who attracts supernatural beings, as their paths cross at a fateful turning point.
Written by Lim Me-a-ri (The Beauty Inside) and directed by Kim Jung-sik (Strong Girl Nam-soon), the series blends fantasy elements with romantic comedy.
Jun Ji-hyun transforms into Gu Ja-hong, a 2,000-year-old gumiho and top actress who captivates everyone with her beauty and talent—yet constantly finds herself entangled in scandals.
Opposite her, Ji Chang-wook plays Choi Seok, a powerful shaman and director of Oseong Museum. As the only person immune to Ja-hong's charm, he becomes both intrigued and entangled in her world.
Strong Ensemble and Expanding Universe
Cha Joo-young plays Ji Woo-kyung, CEO of an entertainment company and Ja-hong's trusted partner—the only one aware of her true identity as a gumiho.
Kang Yoo-seok joins as Go Tae-seung, Choi Seok's close friend and museum deputy director, while Kim Jong-soo appears as Man-gwan, Choi Seok's grandfather.
Kim Min-seok takes on the role of "Beomi," a 500-year-old tiger spirit living a carefree life, adding a unique supernatural dynamic.
The drama also features notable special appearances. Hwang In-youp plays Sam-i, a three-legged dog and natural enemy of the gumiho, while Kim Seol-hyun appears as Yeon-i, a memory spirit guarding the origin of monsters. Lee Jae-in portrays Bang-sang, an ancient spirit with a youthful appearance.
Global Rollout Planned
The production team emphasized strong on-set chemistry and a shared creative vision among cast and crew.
Human X Gumiho is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2027 on JTBC, with a global release planned via Amazon Prime Video.
With its blend of mythology, romance, and star power, the series is already shaping up to be a major global K-drama event.
