EBS is introducing Korea's first terrestrial AI drama, digitally restoring historical figures through advanced technology.
On April 3, EBS unveiled the trailer for 'AI Drama – Resurrection Class.' The series captures defining moments from figures such as Socrates, Alan Turing, Florence Nightingale, Virginia Woolf, Yoon Dong-ju, and Kim Gu.
The project reconstructs historical figures using AI, presenting imagined video messages they might have left behind. It incorporates visual, voice, and facial-expression synthesis technology.
The production does not rely solely on AI. It is grounded in historical records, expert consultation, and scripts written by human writers to minimize distortion. Dialogue and philosophies are also based on verified sources.

Ahn Jung-geun's Final Days Recreated
The first episode centers on Ahn Jung-geun, set on March 24, 1910, inside Lüshun Prison. It portrays the moment he was writing 'On Peace in East Asia,' reflecting on the Harbin incident and his philosophy of peace.
The episode was produced with consultation and archival support from the Ahn Jung-geun Peace Institute and the Memorial Association. Historical accuracy regarding his life, ideology, and prison period was thoroughly verified.
His dialogue and inner thoughts were reconstructed based on court records and 'Ahn Eung-chil's History.' The immersive format includes Ahn directly introducing his prison cell.

AI Technology, Human-Centered Message
'Resurrection Class' will continue with episodes on Socrates, Yoon Dong-ju, Virginia Woolf, Florence Nightingale, Beethoven, and more.
Each episode focuses on a single defining day in a historical figure's life. Through direct address to the camera, they raise questions about life, death, justice, belief, art, and suffering.
The production team described the series as "a human-oriented project that uses logical, cold technology to revive deeply human stories."
They added that the goal is to encourage viewers to think independently and reflect on humanity in the AI era.
The series premieres on April 5 at 11 p.m. KST.
