PSY and Felix took part in a high-profile diplomatic event marking 140 years of Korea–France relations, showcasing the global influence of K-pop.
A state luncheon commemorating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic ties between South Korea and France was held on April 3 at Cheong Wa Dae State Guest House.
The event was attended by Lee Jae-myung and Emmanuel Macron, along with their spouses. Notable cultural figures including PSY, Felix, and actress Jun Ji-hyun were also present.
PSY was invited as a key figure behind the global K-pop phenomenon, while Felix and Jun Ji-hyun attended as honorary ambassadors.
K-Pop Bridges Diplomacy
According to footage released through official channels, Felix stood between the two presidents and demonstrated strong global communication skills, helping lead the atmosphere of the event.
Group photos featuring Stray Kids members, Jun Ji-hyun, and both presidential couples captured the moment, while PSY was seen applauding enthusiastically during the luncheon speeches.
President Macron later shared a selfie on social media with PSY, Felix, Jun Ji-hyun, Jeon Jong-seo, and Noh Sang-hyun, reflecting the lively and friendly atmosphere.
Strengthening Strategic Partnership
The luncheon marked a milestone in bilateral relations, as the two leaders agreed during their summit to elevate Korea–France ties to a "global strategic partnership."
They also set a goal of reaching one million people in bilateral exchanges and pledged cooperation in cultural technology and e-sports.
Both sides emphasized strengthening mutual trust built through K-pop and Korean content, underscoring the growing role of cultural diplomacy on the global stage.
