Slips to No.2 After 8 Weeks on Top
The film ranked No.2 at the weekend box office, ending its impressive eight-week streak at No.1. It was overtaken by Project Hail Mary, directed by Phil Lord. This marks its first drop in ranking after two months in theaters.
Closing In on Historic Milestone
Now, all eyes are on its position in Korea's all-time box office rankings. Only two films have surpassed 16 million admissions domestically: The Admiral: Roaring Currents (17.61 million) and Extreme Job (16.26 million).
The King and the Man is just 170,000 viewers behind Extreme Job, putting it on track to claim the No.2 spot within the week.
