Singer-actor Lee Seung-gi has officially terminated his exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment, citing serious breaches of contractual obligations.
Contract Terminated Over Violations
On April 6, Lee's legal representative announced that the contract termination was notified in late March due to the agency's violations, and that the agreement has now been lawfully concluded.
According to the statement, Lee initially attempted to maintain trust despite ongoing controversies surrounding the agency, artist departures, and delayed payments. However, the situation deteriorated further.
Unpaid Settlements and Operational Failures
Lee's side revealed that he had not received settlement payments since September of last year. In addition, issues reportedly arose in multiple operational areas, including support for his entertainment activities, payments to on-site staff, and external vendors.
Critically, when Lee requested access to basic contractual and financial documents to ensure transparency, the agency allegedly refused without valid justification. This became a decisive factor in ending the agreement.
Agency Crisis Deepens
Big Planet Made Entertainment is a subsidiary of One Hundred Label, co-founded in 2023 by businessman Cha Ga-won and artist MC Mong.
The company had been expanding aggressively within the entertainment industry. However, recent controversies involving its leadership, combined with financial instability, have pushed the label toward a critical state.
Reports indicate failures to pay artist settlements, partner companies, staff wages, and even office rent, raising concerns about the company's operational sustainability.
"Will Continue Activities Responsibly"
Lee Seung-gi emphasized that he will take steps to prevent further damage to related parties and will fulfill all scheduled commitments without disruption.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to fans and staff, stating that he will continue his career with responsibility and professionalism moving forward.
